“The "article" is 99.9% BS, but some of these comments show that there are actually intelligent beings on this planet! This "article" is full of the kind of BS that people who are into Oprah or Dr. Phil get all excited about. It's the same kind of BS that people who actually believe that polygraphs are any more accurate than tossing a coin buy hook, line, and sinker! I always thought that dress codes were BS. There's more important things to worry about in school than what kids are wearing. The argument they always use is "it's distracting to other students," sorry but any student that's distracted by someone's clothes is gonna be distracted regardless, it's not the clothes. Actually you wanna talk distraction from the way people dress? What about spirit week? It's distracting for me to wear a sleeveless shirt, but not for people to wear bright green jumpsuits and face paint?Then again I thought most of the rules were BS, public k-12 schools are about as close as you can get to a dictatorship in this country, they can violate any of your rights just because you're at school, actually you don't even have to be at school. I got in trouble a few times coming home from school, and plenty of kids got suspended for fighting off campus when class was out. Judging by the comments above, I'll probably get dugg down for this, but whatever.

The Senate made the right decision. The purpose of the census is not to count citizens, but to count and record demographic data of people living in the country. Sure, it sounds like an entirely reasonable question and the data would be good, but it's already hard enough to get data on illegals and the presence of this question would likely freak them out more. It's a lesser of two evils situations: ask for citizenship data and only be able to record half the number of illegals (and, since the govt is expected to go to great lengths to get this data, end up costing a lot more), or don't ask it and get a more accurate census.
