“I think you're also forgetting your peoples' own insatiable need to spend beyond their means as well as the lack of regulation that facilitated the crash in your economy.

FTA: "This is a town that's barely functioned since presidential wannabe Dennis Kucinich ran it into bankruptcy during his brief term as mayor 30 years ago."Biased article much? May I suggest the truth of what happened:The big controversy when Kucinich was mayor was that the city was broke as hell but he wouldn't sell Muny Light. Most of the people got all pissy and voted him out, but later realized he was actually doing the right thing (instead of caving in order to stay in politics). He was out of politics for many years and eventually came back as a state senator and now has been a House member since 1996. Let me quote:From Wikipedia: "Specifically, it was the Cleveland Trust Company that suddenly required all of the city's debts be paid in full, which forced the city into default, after news of Kucinich's refusal to sell the city utility. For years these debts were routinely rolled over, pending future payment, until Kucinich's announcement was made public. In 1998 the council honored him for having the "courage and foresight" to stand up to the banks and saving the city an estimated $195 million between 1985 and 1995."I don't care if the article is accurate about ***** police-- that has nothing to do with Kucinich and the guy who wrote this is just a jackass. Then he shows a picture of Kucinich and says he turns his head-- last time I checked, Congressmen vote in Washington on federal law and represent their constituency IN WASHINGTON DC. Kucinich doesn't have the power or authority to ***** clean up the city police. What the *****? Buried.
An existential quandary elegantly phrased by a subtle-wise stick-sketcher. Paced perfectly to tickle the mind; first come the building blocks, then come the bigger ideas. P.S. Is there anything Lego CAN'T teach us?
