Why would the dispatcher stay on the phone with the little girl and help her with math when he should have asked if her parents were around to see if there really was an emergency?.
Employers have a lot of per-employee costs, and because of this it makes sense for them to have fewer employees... even if that even means paying occasional overtime. We're all told that employer costs get passed onto the employee and the consumer. I work for a small business (under 15 employees) providing Internet services. I get to see the books sometimes, and from that I can tell you that my health insurance is insanely expensive - about 30% of my gross pay. The reality is, if you want to be self-employed or START a small business in America... well, you better be already wealthy, or married to someone who has good family insurance. When we're able to opt in to a public non-profit option, it's going to be a BOON to American small business, particularly the self-employed. Small business is supposed to be the economic engine, and with health insurance deterring folks from starting their own small business.. well that's a damn shame and huge missed potential.!

Blaming Fannie and Freddie is not blaming the poor, it's blaming the huge push by government policies that created the housing bubble.?
You and the other 6 million on the road vs what... a few hundred RC8's (the KTM bike they ripped the motor out of to put in electrics)?CBR's are great and all, but they are just another lump of Japanese sport bike. This coming from someone who likes Japanese sport bikes. |

Bad reasoning. This is why juries aren't filled with people who knew the victims. Of course, when you have a child it's natural to not want them to grow up because you want them to be your little baby forever. But, at some point, logic should kick in and you should concede that there are things that your kid(and every kid) should know because it benefits society as a whole.

Christ, I went to a Roman Catholic school growing up, and sex-ed started at Grade 2. I was called "Health Class". We learned about the human body and sex organs at the age of 7 and by the time grade 5 came around, we were taught about intercourse. Health class continued on till grade 9. |
